Hello, the purpose of this blog is to help bring to life a love of all art that is out there. Here you will find the masters to the most current artists out there. You will have a chance to learn a little about them and share your thoughts on their work. And along the way we will have some fun and questions and trivia about anything ART.

Trapped on the inside

Alexandr Milov created a beautiful sculpture of two adults that are mad at each other, or at least not speaking to each other, out of metal cage like structures.  But then on the inside he put two white marble figures that are to represent the inner child in all of us.  You know, that innocent being that just wants to be friends with everyone, and who doesn't want anyone to be sad or mad at anyone else.

So what are your thoughts?  What are your feeling of this piece?  Would you have changed anything about it?  What is your favorite part, or what part upsets you?

Caption this?

Sometime you come across art that you are not sure what to think of, or what you should call it, and that is okay.

Art is whatever the artist was inspired to create at any time.  As long as their craftsmanship is decent, then the art is a way to get people talking.

So I have some questions about what you think of this piece that I found?

So what do you think?  What would you call this if you had to give it a title?  What does it tell you about the artist?  Can you give any thoughts to his/her feelings or thoughts?

Oldies become goodies

So I know that most of you are too young to have seen advertising from the 50s and 60s, but maybe a few of you have seen some from an old magazine lying around at a grandparents house.  Anyways,  I couldn't find the artist that created these, but I thought they were very interesting and even a little comical.

Someone has taken old advertisements, some for products that we think nothing of today, and has mixed them with natural items to create works of art.  But you be the judge.

So what do you think?  Can you figure out what products they were originally selling?  Did they do a good job?  What would you have done differently?

Animals and painty days

The artist Philipp Grein is a watercolor artist who mixes paintings of animals and paint splatters.  In a whimsical way he is giving life and interest to a variety of animals.  He paints the animals in either normal colors or in black and white schemes.  He then adds fun paint splatters of colors into the overall image.

What do you think of his work?  Which work do you like the best?  What animal would you paint if you could create this work of art?

4 Ply or 2 Ply?

I am pretty sure most of us don't think what else can we do with toilet paper? Maybe you have thought of how you could turn toilet paper into art, but for those those that haven't artist Sakr Gokcebag has helped us figure out how toilet paper can become art.

So I must ask, what are your thoughts on this design idea?  Do you think it is interesting or a wste of good toilet paper?  What do you love and what do you think he should have done different?  Do you think there is another medium out there that would work better?

Plaster Master pieces

Today I came across these incredible plaster works of art.  Unfortunately I couldn't find the artist, but I was very intrigued by both them and their title.  They are called Morbid Plaster Creations.  I will let you be the judge of them.

So what are your thoughts on these pieces?  Is this a project that you would be interested in doing?  What amazes you about them the most?  Is it the subject matter or the details or something else?  What images would you combine?

Just relax and draw

Do you ever find yourself so stressed that you need to find a way to release that energy?  Maybe not, but if you do, can I recommend drawing.  It can be so soothing to just sit down and doodle, draw and color an image or design.  That's why adult coloring books have made such a comeback.

If you actually read this all the way to the bottom, you don't need to comment on this one, just draw something and show  me your drawing instead of writing me a message.  Because in a way, drawing is just writing in pictures.  Just on a side note,  I am making this post in July so you might need to remind me when you turn it in.

Weightless Nature?

The German artist Cornelia Konrads is a sculptor that works in the field of land-art.  She often creates works that make you feel like nature has a weightless feeling to it.  Let me know what you think of her work.

So what do you think?  Are they cool, interesting or not your style?  If you could make something in nature appear like it is floating what would you do?  Do these make you think of anything else?

Even I could never do this...

There are not many art techniques out there that I look at with so much awe and amazement that even I would not try to touch it, but I think I found one of those.  The sculpture artist Tomoko Shioyosu has created these beautiful panels of paper with such delicate cuts that you can see through the paper like it is a window, but at the same time it has these abstract images cut out of it.

Well see for yourself and then you tell me what you think...

So what are your thoughts?  Do you think they are amazing or just okay?  Would you be willing to tackle a project like this?  What would you carve into the paper?

Patience, paper and an xacto knife

I have stumbled upon the Japanese artist Noriko Ambe.  I highly recommend you take a moment an google her.  She takes these incredible stacks of paper or books and cuts them with an xacto knife page by page.  Her cuts are so precise that it looks like the books and paper are these deep caverns inside of an alien planet.  But I'll let you take a look and decide for yourself.

My question is, if I never told you that these were paper would you have been able to figure it out?  What do you think they look like?  Do you think you would have the time or the patience to just sit down and create one of these works of art?  What would you cut out if you could do this?

Paper and Nature

So what happens when you take paper and add nature?  You get ART!!

Or at least that is what these works are trying to combine.  Very beautiful or at least interesting things can happen when you mix different mediums.  Or at least I think so, but you let me know what you think after you check them out.

What do you think?  Do you like the drawing with the natural elements added on top, or do you prefer the sticks and the squirrels?  Or do you think both of them are no where near close to art and that this is something that you never want to even try to create?

Art that Rocks!!

I am hoping that most of you have heard or have seen or even found some of the painted rocks that people are creating and then leaving around for others to find.  But what if that was taken a step further and those rocks were attached to wood, canvas or anything else and used as art.  Check out these rocks and let me know what you think.

So my first question is, are they art?  If so, why?  If not, why not?  Do you think they are cute and creative or a waste of someone's time?  What would you paint on a rock if you could?

Does their mother know they did this?

Have you ever made such a mess that you were grounded for a very long time?  Maybe some of you still are...

Well these three works of art might be right up your alley.  I couldn't find if they were real or who created them, but I thought they were lots of fun and kind of interesting and I wanted to know what you thought.

So what do you think of these?  Is this something that you would like to try?  Do you think he threw only one cup of paint to create that splatter or did it take him several, if so, how many?  Do you like only the black paint or would you try other colors?  Do you think the canvases would look as good if you move them away from their walls?

Abstract magic

While surfing Pinterest, yes this is where I get most of my great ideas, I came across the abstract artist Cody Hooper.  Cody is an American Abstract artist that started in watercolors, but has since branched out to working with a variety of mediums to create these beautiful abstract works of art.
Why don't you take a look at a few of them and then let me know what you think?

So what are some things that you notice about his work?  Does he have any common techniques that you can see?  What do you like or dislike about them?  Do you like them more or less if I told you that most of these are for sale for a few thousand dollars each?  Do you think you could create them?

Pallet Art???

It is a wonderful thing that everyone is trying to find ways to be both creative and environmentally friendly, but do you think pallet art is a true art form?
Are these patriotic pallets considered art or crafts?

Does this horse silhouette look like something that you would even consider making?  If you could do this what would you put into silhouette?

What do you think of this ice cream bar pallet project?  Is this creative?  Is this something that you would make or hang up in your house?  Can you think of something that would be really clever to make out of pallets?

Resin Art

So every summer I seem to find a technique that I fall in love with and I become almost obsessed with.  This summer was no exception.  This year I have fallen in love with Resin art.

It all started when I found the work by the artist Mrs. Colorberry.  I would love to give you more info about her, but it is hard to come by.  I do know that she is a European based artist that has created these works of art that look like giant Geode's on canvas and wood.

What do you think of them?  What is your favorite part?  If you don't like them then tell me why?  Is this something that you would be willing to try?  What colors would you put together?
